The UCI has also told Bizkaia-Durango to change its 2022 kit
The UCI has also forced Bizkaia-Durango to change its 2022 kit
Bizkaia-Durango said on Tuesday that is not yet able to unveil its 2022 look after the UCI deemed proposed kits too close to the leader’s jersey for the Women’s WorldTour.
According to the team, “The Union Cycliste Internationale has rejected two different designs of our kit due to their similarity to the UCI Women’s WorldTour leader’s jersey.” As Bizkaka-Durango points out, the team has worn a shade of pink for six years, but apparently two planned kits for this season were not acceptable to the UCI.
As such, it is yet to be settled exactly what the team will be wearing this season, which adds Bizkaia-Durango to the ranks of teams whose 2022 kits have garnered either feedback or outright rejection from the UCI in recent weeks.
The UCI apparently told the Andy Schleck-CP NVST-ImmoLosch team to redesign its look for the same reason. Meanwhile, the Human Powered Health team (formerly Rally) was also asked to make some changes, although the squad ultimately unveiled a kit that still bore some similarities to the Women’s WorldTour jersey – and to the kits of several other teams as well.
For now, Bizkaia-Durango has yet to reveal its revised look for 2022.
