The Giro you don’t see: Battle of future stars

Following up on our behind the scenes of the Tour de France, we wanted to show you a little peak behind the curtains of the Giro d’Italia. A grand tour with a slow burn, the Giro gave cycling fans hope for the future, with many young talents shining in the final week. João Almeida impressed everyone with his performance in the first two weeks, until Wilco Kelderman, with the help of his Team Sunweb teammate Jai Hindley, was able to snatch the pink jersey in the mountains. In the end the Ineos Grenadiers had one of the most impressive Grand Tours in the teams history, with 7 stage wins. Most exciting of all was the final stage time trial that determined the final winner after 21 stages. Tao Geoghegan Hart, who had come to the race to help Geraint Thomas, ended up winning pink on the final day, bookending Ineos’ Giro story that started and ended in pink. Exciting stage finishes, controversy, and drama, this Giro did not disappoint.
