Ride Like King raises funds for World Bicycle Relief

Giant Group, the parent company of Giant, Liv, Momentum, and CADEX, has announced that it is again linking up with World Bicycle Relief and Zwift for this year’s Ride Like King event, now in its 13th year of celebrating Giant Group founder King Liu’s work in cycling. Starting on Friday May 14 and running through Sunday May 16, cyclists are invited to join virtual group rides and local outdoor rides in an effort that will see World Bicycle Relief donating bikes and Giant Group matching each donation.

World Bicycle Relief, which provides bicycles to people in developing countries, will donate one Buffalo Bicycle for every 1,300 km collectively ridden by participants, and Giant will match the total number of bicycles donated.

Last year’s edition of the event saw 100 bicycles, which are built for carrying heavy loads on long journeys, donated to those in need.

Ambassadors, athletes, and employees of Giant and Liv are leading six Zwift rides during the event, with participants unlocking “RLK13” jerseys upon completing a ride and earning a chance to win one of five limited edition RLK13 jerseys signed by King Liu.

Those who participate in local rides can post photos to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #RideLikeKing to be eligible to win jerseys as well.
