The final day in Hungary is the first real opportunity for the sprinters. As you can see below it’s a very flat stage with only the most minor of climbs towards the end. The final 50 km take the riders along the shores of Lake Balaton. That raises the possibility for wind, at least, but the forecast isn’t calling for too much as of Saturday.
Who’s it for: The sprinters.
Dane Cash’s picks: Stage 3 should help things come into focus in terms of which speedsters are at their best in this race. Caleb Ewan and Mark Cavendish are the two top names to watch. Ewan seemed to be in great form in the uphill finish of stage 1, but it’s unclear how his crash will affect him. Cavendish, meanwhile, will benefit from the great lead-out prowess of Michal Mørkøv. Others to watch include Arnaud Démare, Fernando Gaviria, Phil Bauhaus, Giacomo Nizzolo, and Biniam Girmay.
