Preview: What you need to know about stage 21 of the Vuelta a España

The Vuelta finishes with a reasonably long and lumpy individual time trial.

There are two uphill drags on the menu. Although they aren’t particularly steep, but this will be a tough little stage regardless, with some sustained stretches of uphill roads at the end of a hard Vuelta.

Who’s it for: TT specialists and GC contenders.

Dane Cash’s picks: Primož Roglič is a deserving favorite for the final time trial of the race. He’s the Olympic gold medalist, and what’s more, the rolling profile will give him an edge over some of the less versatile TT specialists. Just in case Roglič decides to take it conservatively to keep the red jersey safe. however, others to watch include Jan Tratnik and Josef Černy.
