Preview: What you need to know about stage 21 of the 2022 Vuelta a España
Date: Sunday September 11
Start: Las Rozas
Finish: Madrid
Distance: 96.7 km
The stage is short, the route is flat, and the Vuelta will already have been decided. This will be a largely processional final stage into Madrid which will start easily then ramp up ahead of a bunch kick.
Who’s it for: The sprinters.
Mads Pedersen (Trek-Segafredo) is firmly in control of the green jersey and has three stage wins under his belt already. However, this is a more conventional sprint stage than we’ve seen in over a week, so Pascal Ackermann (UAE Team Emirates), Kaden Groves (BikeExchange-Jayco) and Tim Merlier (Alpecin-Deceuninck) will all be hoping to end on a high.
