Police obtain search warrant in Mo Wilson shooting case
Police in Austin, Texas have obtained a search warrant for a house in south Austin in connection with the shooting death of gravel racer Moriah “Mo” Wilson, local media reports suggest.
According to NBC affiliate KXAN, the search warrant says Wilson went swimming with a friend on the evening of May 11 before, at 8:30pm, returning to a house she was staying in ahead of the upcoming Gravel Locos race near Dallas.
Security footage from a nearby home shows a vehicle arriving at the house a few minutes after Wilson.
Police allege Wilson was shot at 9:56pm and found unconscious and bleeding by a friend shortly afterwards. Police have said the shooting “does not appear to be a random act”. A person of interest has reportedly been identified.
The vehicle seen in the security footage matches the description of a vehicle found in the south Austin home, for which police now have a search warrant.
