One-off Festka Scalatore blurs the line between art and performance
Czech custom bike brand Festka is no stranger to special one-off projects dressed in truly wild paint finishes. Its latest creation is based on its Scalatore tube-to-tube carbon road model and was built for a customer in South America. According to Festka, the paint alone took nine months to complete.
Like the Spectre Porcelain one-off that Festka showed off last year, this one was again painted by Michal Ba?ák, a Czech illustrator known for his impossibly intricate drawings. This time around, Ba?ák covered the frame, fork, stem, and saddle with a distinctively Asian motif peppered with dragons and samurai warriors.
Festka completed the build with a Campagnolo Super Record EPS electronic disc-brake groupset, Lightweight carbon wheels wrapped in Tufo tires, a Schmolke carbon fiber seatpost, and THM carbon fiber handlebar.
Claimed weight is an impressive 6.9 kg. And what about the official retail cost?
“A small fortune.”
