New Campagnolo Bora WTO 60 DB wheels are fast to ride, expensive to buy

Campagnolo has announced its most aero-focused disc-compatible road wheelset to date: the 60 mm-deep Bora WTO 60 DB carbon clinchers.

As with the rest of the WTO range, Campagnolo claims the Bora WTO 60 DB’s somewhat blunted shape has been tuned for a wide range of effective yaw angles — partially to reduce drag, of course, but also to make the process of wheel selection easier for performance-minded riders that are concerned about varying wind conditions.

External width is 26.1 mm, which is paired with a 19 mm internal width that’s designed for use with 23, 25, and 28 mm-wide tires. The rim is also tubeless-compatible, and Campagnolo’s clever MoMag construction process makes for an inherently airtight rim bed that doesn’t require tape. Front and rear two-to-one lacing patterns on the straight-pull, bladed, stainless steel spokes make for more balanced spoke tension, too.

Other features include standard USB hybrid ceramic bearings with adjustable bearing preload, an optional “dark” graphics package for those that prefer the stealthy look, and available aluminum freehub bodies for Campagnolo, Shimano HG, and SRAM XDR cassettes.

Claimed weight for the set is 1,590 grams, and retail price is €2,160. Pricing for other regions is to be confirmed.
