Nettie Edmondson wins the Aussie criterium title
BALLARAT, Australia (CT) – Annette Edmondson has taken out the Australian criterium title in a crash-marred race in central Ballarat.
While there was a series of attacks throughout, the bunch stayed together for much of the 40-lap, 44 km race before eventually contesting a bunch sprint. A crash in the final corner took several riders out of contention before the final uphill drag to the line.
Edmondson won by a bike length ahead of Ruby Roseman-Gannon (ARA-Sunshine Coast) and defending champion Chloe Hosking (Trek-Segafredo).
Despite a crash earlier in the race Maeve Plouffe was the first U23 rider across the line in fourth, taking out the U23 title ahead of Alexandra Martin-Wallace and Neve Bradbury (Canyon-SRAM)
