Nacer Bouhanni will ride on with Arkéa-Samsic through 2023
Nacer Bouhanni will stick with Arkéa-Samsic for a further two seasons.
The French ProTeam announced on Friday that it had signed Bouhanni and five other riders to contract extensions. Bouhanni, who joined the squad in 2020 after five years with Cofidis, will ride on with the team through 2023.
Bouhanni has yet to take a victory in 2021, but he has been close several times, including at the Tour de France, where he finished second on stage 4 and nabbed three other top five finishes in sprints.
“Nacer was the number one French sprinter on the Tour de France roads, demonstrating that his level of performance in the WorldTour was still there,” Arkéa-Samsic manager Emmanuel Hubert said. “He registered three podiums in the first week of the Tour, and at Fougères, Nacer finished a quarter of a wheel from first place. We will continue to write our sprint story with him.”
Like Bouhanni, teammates Amaury Capiot, Lukasz Owsian, Clément Russo, and Matîs Louvel also signed two-year extensions, while Anthony Delaplace has signed on for one further year.
