Welcome to a new week, CyclingTips readers.
Is there anything Lachlan Morton can’t do? On top of his recent Kokopelli Trail record, and that insane ride from Lands End to John O’Groats, and his blast through the Colorado trail, he’s now set the Everesting record. His time? Seven hours, 32 minutes, and 54 seconds.
That, dear readers, is just crazy.
Lachlan probably doesn’t really care, but normal bike racing is beginning to peek over the horizon, and teams are getting ready. Team camps are starting up, and non-European riders are getting called back to their EU bases.
Scroll down for everything you need to know.

| Dumoulin to Froome: Careful what you wish for
Tom Dumoulin knows how much of a pain it is to swap teams mid-contract. He did it just a few years ago, dropping Sunweb for Jumbo-Visma. His words of wisdom for Chris Froome, who is reportedly considering leaving Ineos, are simple: Be careful.
“It made me think about my own troubles,” Dumoulin told Het Laatste Nieuws, referring to his Sunweb/Jumbo swap. “That wasn’t fun. I don’t know if I should believe the stories, but if he wants to switch teams mid-season, that would take energy.”
Froome, who has four Tour wins and wants five, has been connected to Israel Start-Up Nation. The primary draw of the Israeli team appears to be that it does not contain Egan Bernal.
| Esteban Chaves still wants to win the Tour
Who doesn’t, really?
Esteban, of course, is a bit closer than you or me, and reiterated his desire to win Le Grande Boucle before he retires, speaking with the podcast Le Maillot.
“I fell in love with cycling when I was twelve, watching the Tour de France,” he said. “I have a dream, and that is to win the Tour de France. I work with that goal in mind. If you ask me if I can win the Tour, I say yes.”
Chaves at his best certainly seems capable. But the stars would need to align for the Colombian climber.
| Sunweb’s new kit
Sunweb rolled out a new look over the weekend, swapping its red and black for white and black. It’s throwing off serious 2017 Sunweb vibes.
