Mo Wilson murder suspect allegedly spotted at remote campsite in upstate New York
Kaitlin Armstrong, the fugitive Texas yoga teacher wanted following the shooting of gravel cyclist Mo Wilson, has allegedly been spotted on a remote campsite in upstate New York.
The 34-year-old, who stands accused of shooting Wilson dead in Austin, Texas, has been on the run since the murder on May 11.
Airport security footage caught Armstrong boarding a flight from Houston to New York City on May 14, before new information suggested Armstrong was then dropped off at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey four days later. Since then, however, she has not been seen. The case has been upgraded to ‘major’ status and a $5,000 reward is being offered for further information.
A man who was staying at Camp Haven in Livingston Manor, New York, has told Fox News that Armstrong’s sister Christine had been staying at the campsite and that he’d seen Armstrong there a month ago.
“She was [here] a while back,” the man said. “right before the whole thing blew up.”
US Marshals have confirmed they are aware of the campsite location but have not confirmed suspicions that Kaitlin is using her sister’s identity. The camp is around two and a half hours’ drive from Newark Liberty International Airport, where Armstrong was last seen on May 18.
