Hirschi kisses Team DSM goodbye
In an unexpected turn of events, Marc Hirschi and Team DSM have parted ways ahead of the 2021 season.
“Team DSM has reached a settlement agreement with their rider Marc Hirschi to terminate their present employment before the original end date of 31 December 2021,” the team said in a statement on their social media. “It has been agreed that the agreement will be terminated with immediate effect and that no further comments will be made. Team DSM wishes Marc Hirschi all the best for the continuation of his career and expresses its gratitude for what Marc Hirschi has contributed to the team.”
Hirschi has only ridden with Team DSM for the 2019 season, after winning the U23 World Championship road race in Innsbruck in 2018. Prior to joining the World Tour Hirschi rode for the Team Sunweb Development team in 2018.

Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec release on-brand 2021 kit
In this day and age of uncertainty, when some parts of the world are in lockdown and the rest is constantly scrolling the news, it’s nice to know that some things never change. Comfort can be taken in Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec, the Italian Pro Team, dropped a sponsor-packed 2021 look.
The team has kept to the same color scheme of 2020, red and white. Overall, the kit is much the same, with red shoulders, a white middle, and about a thousand logos all over it. The two major differences are the shift from red bibs to black and a darker red on the shoulders.

Thank goodness they’ve kept the water bottles on top of the back pockets, however, it seems there is still room for a few logos if anyone is interested in sponsoring a team.
Coming soon to CyclingTips, the 2021 road and gravel Field Test
Squeezed in between Australia’s border lockdowns we managed to get the whole Aussie CyclingTips crew together in Bright, a small town within Victoria’s High Country, to sample some of the locally made beverages and test some interesting bikes (not necessarily in that order).
Our first Field Test in early 2020 focussed solely on various sub-categories of gravel bikes but this time around we got a little more eclectic with the bikes we tested.
Initially, our plan was to do an exhaustive test covering the mid-priced versions of all the exciting new all-rounder road race bikes that have been released over the past 12 months. However, in the midst of a pandemic-driven bike boom, we simply couldn’t get test bikes from a number of brands (Scott, Cannondale, Specialized and BMC). Turns out you all bought those bikes already.
And so, our test covered a spectrum of cycling disciplines and a great variety of terrain, too.
