Israel-Premier Tech to sponsor Roland Cogeas Edelweiss
Roland Cogeas Edelweiss, one of five teams recently upgraded to WorldTeam status, have signed a deal to make Israel-Premier Tech a financial partner in 2022. The team name will not change, but Israel-Premier Tech will feature on the new Roland Cogeas Edelweiss jersey.
“The announcement of this partnership with Israel-Premier Tech marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Rolan Cogeas Edelweiss Squad,” said the team’s owner Ruben Contreras. “Thanks to our new partnership with Roland we were able to step up to the UCI Women’s WorldTour level in 2022…now with Israel-Premier Tech joining as our sponsor, we have an even brighter future ahead of us.”
“Israel-Premier Tech is not a minor sponsor, and it’s important for them to have a place on our jersey,” Contreras said.
As far as management and leadership goes, Contreras will remain owner of the women’s team for the time being, the team will not function under the same management structure as Israel-Premier Tech’s men’s team.
With the support of Israel-Premier Tech, Roland Cogeas Edelweiss Squad has added Israeli rider Rotem Gafinovitz to the team for 2022. Gafinovitz is a multi-time time trial national champion who rode for Canyon-SRAM in 2019 and 2020. With Premier Tech’s influence the team will also add a Canadian rider to the team.
“We are delighted to partner with Roland Cogeas Edelweiss Squad,” said Israel-Premier Tech team owner Sylan Adams. “After welcoming Premier Tech as our partner just one month ago, it was a mutual decision to broaden our presence in cycling to include a women’s team and a natural next step for IPT.”
Adams said the Swiss Women’s WorldTeam was the perfect team to support. The two teams have agreed to a one-year deal, with the potential to continue working together after the 2022 season.
