Only a little over a year after the team found a new sponsor, we still find ourselves calling them “Sky” from time to time—but Ineos is getting a new name yet again.
Team Ineos is becoming the Ineos Grenadiers to promote a new 4×4 vehicle from Ineos Automotive. The squad announced the news on Wednesday, confirming what has been rumored for a few weeks now. The change is also expected to come with a new kit, all in time for the start of the upcoming Tour de France.

| Team Ineos will become the Ineos Grenadiers, named after a new 4×4
Team Ineos is becoming the Ineos Grenadiers to promote the Grenadier, a 4×4 vehicle from Ineos Automotive. The team announced the news on Wednesday, confirming what has been rumored for weeks.
In a press release, Ineos noted that the vehicle will enter production next year, while the team’s new name and branding “will officially launch in the week leading up to the Tour de France in Nice.”
TuttoBiciWeb reports that the squad has filed the official request for the name change and new kit with the UCI, with the team’s current red and black aesthetic set to become a mostly blue kit. Ineos announced its impending name change in a short press release with few details, but noted that “more information will follow.”
| Preidler found guilty of fraud, fined and given suspended sentence
Georg Preidler, who received a four-year ban from the UCI after admitting involvement in the blood doping ring investigated by Operation Aderlass, was found guilty of fraud in an Austrian court on Wednesday.
The former Groupama-FDJ rider was fined €2,880 and given a 12-month suspended sentence for sporting fraud.

According to Zikloland, Carlos Betancur missed the charter flight that took several Colombian cycling stars from Bogotá to Madrid.
Zikloland reports that the 30-year-old Movistar rider missed a connecting flight from Medellín to Colombia and therefore missed the transatlantic flight. Whether he can get back to racing as planned is now unclear.
| Bardet and Latour reportedly looking to leave Ag2r
According to L’Equipe, both Romain Bardet and Pierre Latour are planning to leave the Ag2r-La Mondiale team at the end of the year.
Bardet, 29, has been with Ag2r since 2012, but rumors have linked him to a possible move to Sunweb. Latour, 26, rode his first full pro season with Ag2r in 2015. He has been linked to a possible transfer to Total-Direct Energie.
| Saris-The Pro’s Closet launches a women’s team
Saris-The Pro’s Closet, among the most successful Zwift-racing teams in the world, is launching a women’s squad.
The team announced Tuesday that it is adding 10 new racers to the team’s roster, including American masters time trial champ Christie Tracy and Israeli up-and-comer Shanni Berger.
