Hosking wins Ladies Tour of Norway final stage, Van Vleuten secures overall

The final stage of the Ladies Tour of Norway came down to a reduced bunch sprint won by Chloe Hosking (Trek-Segafredo). Coryn Rivera finished second for the second time in the tour, with Chiara Consonni (Valcar Travel & Service) taking third.

Annemiek van Vleuten (Movistar) finished safely with the leaders and won the overall classification by 39 seconds over Ashleigh Moolman Pasio (SD Worx).

The chaos kicked off with just about 16 km to go when a crash impacted the makeup of the peloton. Shortly before the crash Alison Jackson (Liv Racing) and Kristen Faulkner (Tibco-SVB) battled for sprint points, with Jackson gaining ground on the sprint classification.

With 13 km remaining the peloton could smell the finish and attacks started in earnest. Canyon-SRAM in particular was keen to get a group up the road in the final kilometres. Nothing was able to slip away from Movistar protecting Van Vleuten and Team DSM who were looking for a sprint finish.

Hosking expertly navigated the final kilometre and even after she found herself on the front earlier than planned, no one could come around the Australian once she’d opened up her sprint.
