Grinduro postpones Welsh and Australian stops
As much as Grinduro has been wanting to get the party started, that’s proving challenging in 2020. Race organisers have even been making regular offerings to the trail gods, but it doesn’t look like even they can make events happen. As a result, Grinduro has announced that it will postpone its events in Wales and Australia for 2020.
The two events are added to a list of other Grinduro stops that have been postponed until 2021 due to COVID-19, including Switzerland, Canada and, most recently, California.
The Welsh Grinduro was originally scheduled to take place on October 10, 2020 in Machynlleth, Wales. The event is now scheduled for July 24, 2021.
“For everyone registered for the 2020 event, we will carry your registration over automatically to the 2021 event,” Grinduro stated in a press release. “If you can’t participate in Grinduro Wales 2021 you can request a refund.”
Meanwhile in Australia, Falls Creek Resort Management, in conjunction with Grinduro Global, announced the Grinduro Australia event scheduled to take place on December 5, 2020 in Falls Creek would also be postponed to 2021.
“The spirit of Grinduro is community, riding, eating and partying together,” Falls Creek Event Supervisor, Nick Buckley, said in a release. “Hosting anything less than this is not an option. We prefer to offer this unforgettable experience in 2021 in the way that it should be enjoyed.”
Grinduro Australia is set to return to the High Country on Saturday December 4, 2021.
If you’re beginning to experience Grinduro withdrawals, Grinduro California and partners have put together The Great Grinduro Giveaway, with all money raised being donated to the Siskiyou Outdoor Recreation Alliance (SORA)! They got together and created gravel and mountain bike prize packages including bikes from Evil bikes decked out with SRAM, Zipp, Maxxis, Giro, and more. Donate just $5 (or more) for your chance to win.
