Freeman hearing adjourned until next year

The medical tribunal of former British Cycling and Sky doctor Richard Freeman has been adjourned until at least May of next year, Dan Roan of the BBC reports.

Freeman’s defense team reportedly requested the adjournment on medical grounds, and the panel agreed to the request.

The tribunal, which is assessing Freeman’s fitness to practice medicine, has already run well past its expected timeline. The case was pushed back several months after its first hearings in February and March, and has been delayed on a handful of occasions since then.

Roan noted that limited panel availability could also lead to further delays next year.

According to Roan, Freeman’s lawyer Mary O’Rourke may still call as many as four witness to give evidence in the case.
