Fouriers
Taiwanese component manufacturer Fouriers arrived with a pair of new bike fitting tools I really want. Not for bike fitting, just for tinkering with my own position.
This crankset is the ADP-FIT-CZ and offers bike fitters quick and easy crank length adjustments in a single crank from 144 mm all the way up to 180 mm.The ADP-FIT-SA is an adjustable stem offering length adjustments from 50 mm up to 150 mm and +/- 20° angle adjustments. This measurement platform helps fitters find the correct length and angle from the adjustable stem. Fouriers also had a width-adjustable handlebar on show. While none of these products are designed or safe for on-road use, they no doubt could save a fitter countless hours of swapping components back and forth in fit studios.
Cyclon
We first spotted Cyclon’s Speed Brake Roller outside the Team Jumbo-Visma truck ahead of the Tour of Flanders. The system drives the wheels to help mechanics “bed-in” new brake pads and rotors on the spot.
The Speed Brake Roller is powered by a 0.75 horsepower motor and features a replaceable V-belt and reversible direction for use with front and rear wheels. It’s a hefty machine, weighing 35 kg.
The Speed Brake Roller is designed for shop mechanics and unlikely to find its way into too many home workshops, given it’s priced at €1,600 + VAT.
Tripeak
Tripeak is getting in on the oversized pulley wheel game with this new one-arm Jetstream Derailleur Pulley Cage Kit, coming soon. Tripeak claims the Jetstream is durable, wear-resistant, and quieter, smoother, and lower friction than standard cages and pulleys.
The Jetstream will be available in orange, silver, and black and will be compatible with Shimano R9100 / R9200 / R8000 / R8100 / R7000 and SRAM AXS groupsets. It’ll be priced at US$240. Tripeak also had these Jetstream oversized pulley wheels compatible with standard Shimano pulley cages, if oversized and single-arm cages are not your thing. The larger 16-tooth lower pulley features an offset mount to help squeeze the larger pulley into a standard Shimano 11-speed cage. The 12-tooth upper and 16-tooth lower combination is said to offer the same advantages as the Jetstream derailleur cage kit and is priced at US$140.Tripeak also wants yet another bottom bracket standard, with these T42 bottom brackets currently compatible with BB86 shells and an adapter. But Tripeak isn’t content with an adapter, the brand wants manufacturers to start incorporating its new T42 standard, said to provide the same benefits as T47, in new frames as standard.
