Echelon Racing League launches virtual amateur race series
Project Echelon Racing, and the Project Echelon Domestic Racing Team, are teaming up with USA Cycling to launch a virtual amateur racing series to run alongside an already announced pro series.
The Echelon Racing League Amateur Series presented by USA Cycling will feature 11 days of virtual competition across eight events on the RGT platform, taking place in the run-up to the corresponding pro events.
The series will rely on a points-based omnium system with categorized races. The top 10 finishers from each Category 1 amateur race will earn invites to the subsequent pro races.
In a press release announcing the news, Echelon Racing Promotions said that the amateur events would feature broadcast livestreams. All races will run at 2pm Eastern Time.
Echelon Racing has already organized other virtual events so far this year, including the virtual Tour of the Gila and the virtual Redlands Classic. The upcoming Echelon Racing League Amateur Series (and the Pro Series) will also feature Tour of the Gila and Redlands races.
The series gets underway in November with the RGT Real Roads Stage Race and runs into the new year, concluding with two days of virtual Tour of America’s Dairyland races, which will also feature a para-cycling category.
