Charting the 2020 Tour de France

There are many ways to show how a bike race is unfolding. Video coverage, of course, written reports, podcasts, photo galleries — they all do the job in their own way. And so does data journalism, as VeloClub member Cameron Harris showed us during several big races last year.

Well, Cam is back at it in 2020 with his engaging way of detailing the ins and outs of the world’s biggest race. We’ll update this page as the Tour unfolds with a range of interactive charts that help you understand exactly how the 107th edition of the race is playing out.

If you’d like to know what to expect, be sure to check out Cam’s work from the 2019 Tour de France, the 2019 Giro Rosa, and the 2019 Giro d’Italia. And if you want to dive deeper, here are two detailed breakdowns we did from last year’s Tour de France based on Cam’s work: one from the first week, the other in the closing stages of the race.

Enjoy!
