Boels-Dolmans secures future with new title sponsor

The Boels-Dolmans team has found a new sponsor.

After a months-long search for a partner to replace Boels Rental and Dolmans Landscaping Group, which are ending their title sponsorship of the powerhouse squad at the end of this season, the team announced Wednesday that human resources company SD Worx is coming aboard as a co-sponsor now and set to take over as the title sponsor in 2021.

According to a press release, the team has an arrangement in place that will secure the squad’s future through 2024.

“It’s a huge advantage to know that our future is secured up to the end of 2024,” said team manager Danny Stam in a statement. “We can start building the team of the future and take the necessary steps forward.”

Boels-Dolmans has counted its current pair of title sponsors as naming partners since 2012. Over the past several years, the team has been the most successful in the women’s peloton, with an impressive roster that includes the likes of Anna van der Breggen, Chantal Blaak, and Amy Pieters. Lizzie Deignan, now with Trek-Segafredo, and Megan Guarnier, who retired in 2018, are other big names who enjoyed impressive runs as members of the team.

The future of the Dutch outfit had been up in the air, however, following an announcement late last year that title sponsors Boels and Dolmans would be leaving after the 2020 season. The team was not among the eight squads applying to join the inaugural Women’s WorldTour ranks, and as recently as two weeks ago, Stam said that he was continuing to look for new partners.

Apparently, Stam’s search has finally borne fruit in the form of a lengthy arrangement that will keep the team going for several seasons yet.

From 2021, Boels-Dolmans will become SD Worx Cycling Team.
