Twelve months ago, Shimano announced its 12-speed XTR drivetrain. It looked just as refined and well-executed as you’d expect a top-tier race-oriented group to be, but there was one problem – it was nearly impossible to purchase. Several factors, including a fire at Shimano’s anodizing facility, delayed the production of the group, and the availability kept getting pushed further and further back.
