Astana will race on Wilier Triestina bikes in 2020.

The Kazakh WorldTour outfit recently announced that its three-year partnership with Canadian bike manufacturer Argon 18 was coming to an end at the conclusion of 2019. Now, the team will switch to Italian brand Wilier.

“We are proud to announce this agreement that we’re certain will play a central role in Wilier Triestina’s growth and overall success,” said Wilier Triestina CEO Andrea Gastaldello in a press release.

“Astana Pro Team concretely shares our ambition to return to winning the world’s top races.”

Wilier has been visible at the Pro Continental level in recent years, currently serving as the bike sponsor of the Total-Direct Energie team and also having spent three seasons as a title sponsor of the team now known as Neri Sottoli–Selle Italia–KTM. Linking up with Astana gives Wilier a presence at the top division

The partnership will also see brand and team working together on future projects, with the announcement noting that “Astana Pro Team will be increasingly involved in designing products, and especially in developing new bicycles, aiming to raise even further the already excellent level of innovation present in Wilier bicycle.”
