After 16 years, Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld will not continue into next season
The Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld team, a staple of the American ‘cross scene for years, announced on Monday that it will not continue into the coming season, ending a run that lasted for 16 years.
“Today, we’re sharing the difficult news that the Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld team will not return next season,” the team said on social media. “While it’s a hard decision, we know the time is right.”
Managed by Stu Thorne, the squad fielded American cyclocross stars like Ryan Trebon, Tim Johnson, Jeremy Powers, Curtis White, Stephen Hyde, Kaitlin Keough, and Clara Honsinger over the years. In that time, the team racked up multiple national cyclocross titles and a huge collection of victories in North American races.
In a post announcing the news, the team expressed gratitude to sponsors like Cannondale and SRAM as well as to the fans that have cheered for the team’s riders along the way.
“We couldn’t have raced at this level without the best equipment in the world. And of course, we have to thank our fans. From the slopes of Mt. Krumpit to the muddy fields of Belgium, we’ll always remember your passion,” the team said. “Thank you to everyone who has supported us. We’re looking forward to our next chapter.”
