Martin becomes second Irishman to win LBL

Martin becomes the second Irishman to win Liège-Bastogne-Liège since Sean Kelly in 1984.
“I didn’t want to wait for the sprint and that is why I went at that point,” Martin said. It was a team victory for Garmin-Sharp after Ryder Hesjedal had set a high pace to keep the breakaway group of six out of sight of the chasing group.
