Hushovd blaze to victory, X2 to cushion his bum.
The Norwegian Viking, Thor Hushovd won a bumpy stage 3 of the 2010 Tour de France over famous cobblestones near Arenberg yesterday, and claiming the green jersey.
“To win on this day on the cobblestones really means a lot to me. The team was perfect today. I really want to compliment them. They were really motivated and they gave me so much help to keep me in a good position. I needed to stay in the front group and avoid trouble, I knew I would have a good chance. That’s what I did and I was able to win,” said a happy Thor Hushovd after the finish.
Hushovd also added “I am really proud to win. It was a special stage, and a nice win. I have had my eye on this stage for awhile and it’s great that it worked out. I am really satisfied. It was nice to win in the Norwegian national jersey, but I am also happy that I now have the green jersey.”
Thor Hushovd made the elite selection, waited patiently, then crushed all comers in the sprint for the big win. He’s now on top in the Classification of the green jersey.
A bumpy stage 3 was the perfect demonstration of the advantages of Cervélo TestTeam’s all-time favorite seatpad (Progetto X2) – maximum cushioning, protection and durability that is unquestionable.
The seatpad is different from most multi-density crotch savers on the market. Instead of a bunch of raised ridges settling against your skin, the skin-side surface of the seatpad is one smooth piece. The multi-density cushion of the chamois is on the other side of the foam – and created by cutting away sections of a single block of uncompressed foam to create variable densities.
The multi-density Progetto X2 seatpad features 3 gel inserts – two under the ischial sit bones and one in the perineum area. They’re called a ‘viscous comfort zone’ and are so thin, I could not tell they were even there, which says a lot about how well they integrate with the pad.
“The new red pad is really good, and I even use it without chamois cream. Good job!”
