Garmin-Barracuda announces Tour de France roster
Team Garmin-Barracuda will be led by the Giro d’Italia winner Ryder Hesjedal in the Tour. Also in with a chance of riding for the General Classification are Christian Vande Velde and Tom Danielson, who will step forward if Hesjedal proves not to be at the same strength as he was in Italy.
Heading back to the race where the American team took four stage victories in 2011 plus a win in the team classification, the Garmin-Barracuda team has announced the line-up for this year’s Tour de France.
The team sprinter and previous Tour stage winner Tyler Farrar will be joined in the sprints by South African national champion and Tour stage winner Robbie Hunter.
The Irish climber Dan Martin will make his Tour de France debut with ambitions to go after a mountain stage win, and possibly the king of the mountains jersey rather than the GC. Dan will have the support of TT specialists David Millar and David Zabriskie in the mountains. The nine-man team is rounded out by 2010 Paris-Roubaix winner, Johan Vansummeren.
