Castelli partners with German Triathlon Union

Castelli is stepping up its triathlon activities and is pleased to announce a new partnership with the German Triathlon Union (DTU) that will see the Italian brand become the exclusive outfitter of the DTU and the German triathlon national teams.

This step, which underscores Castelli’s steadily growing triathlon presence, especially in middle- and long-distance racing, will help set a course for the brand’s future direction and support efforts to further develop the range of triathlon-specific products offered.

“Castelli has a long history in cycling, and the brand has become well established as a supplier on the triathlon market as well in recent years. The athletes working with them – for example, multiple Tour de France winners and Ironman world champions – are evidence of the high quality of Castelli’s products, so we are very proud that the DTU will be the first national triathlon federation equipped by Castelli. We are looking forward to the collaboration. Above all, the athletes of the DTU national team and the age-group national team will benefit from this partnership and will start the new season with high-quality clothing,” said Faris Al-Sultan, DTU national elite coach.

The young and dynamic German athletes, led by the mixed relay quartet who took silver in the 2019 world championships, will have access to a wide range of high-performance training products and will be closely involved in developing a brand-new elite suit for Tokyo 2020.

Steve Smith, Castelli brand manager, said: “We’ve already achieved remarkable success with many of our athletes, including victories in numerous world championships and other prestigious races. We are excited to apply our expertise to the world of sprint and short-distance triathlon in the future. Our desire to be more deeply involved in this extremely dynamic and media- and spectator-friendly sport is now becoming a reality, and we are proud that the German triathletes will be wearing the scorpion at the Olympics in Tokyo next year. Valuable feedback from the DTU athletes will enhance our ability to make clothing that helps win races.”
