Vista Outdoor Acquires Stone Glacier, Adds to Its Arsenal of Hunting Brands
Vista Outdoor is ending the year with a major acquisition of Stone Glacier, a popular backcountry hunting brand.
Today, Vista Outdoor (NYSE: VSTO) announced the acquisition of Stone Glacier, an ultralight backcountry and hunting gear brand. This is huge news for the hunting and gear space. Vista Outdoor — which owns brands like Remington and QuietKat — will now also stand strong in the technical hunting pack and outerwear categories.
In just 15 months, Vista Outdoor has made seven acquisitions, including Remington and HEVI-Shot on the shooting market side. And now it owns Stone Glacier on the outdoor product side.
“Interest in hunting and the shooting sports has risen considerably over the past 20 months, with the market expanding to 13 million first-time gun buyers,” reported Vista Outdoor in a press release announcing the acquisition.
More Acquisition Details
Stone Glacier was founded in 2012 and headquartered in Bozeman, Mont. It will join Vista Outdoor’s quickly growing portfolio of outdoor brands, including Bell, Giro, CamelBak, Camp Chef, and Blackburn.
Stone Glacier is known for its exceptional backpacks built for heavy loads, attention to lightweight detail without sacrificing durability, and an ever-expanding line with quality at the forefront. And Vista Outdoor looks to continue growing the brand with this new backing power.
“The future of Stone Glacier is bright. This partnership comes at a great time for our business, and we are excited for the support that Vista Outdoor will provide to accelerate our growth and continue developing industry-leading products,” said Stone Glacier president Jeff Sposito.
“We have been fortunate to build a following of the most dedicated backcountry hunters, and it has always been our mission to bring the best products, service, and innovations to market. This partnership ensures we will continue to execute on that mission at the highest level.”
