Uncut Send Footage: Megos Climbs Possible 5.15c ‘King Capella’ in Spain

Watch one of the world’s best climbers on the first repeat of ‘King Capella,’ which could be the world’s sixth 5.15c sport route.

Alex Megos is one of a handful of climbing phenoms to have redpointed 5.15c. The German prodigy may have added to his growing tick list of 5.15c routes late last week in Catalonia, Spain.

The route in question, “King Capella” (possible 5.15c), was established by 22-year-old Will Bosi of the U.K. in March 2021. Megos’ redpoint on “King Capella” is also the route’s first repeat.

At the time of its first ascent, Bosi graded the route 5.15c. If Megos confirms Bosi’s initial grading, “King Capella” will stand as one of the most difficult sport climbs in the world.

Megos’ confirmation of the grade would mean that Bosi is only the sixth person in the world to send 5.15c and the first British climber to join the elite ranks of Megos, Adam Ondra, Chris Sharma, Stefano Ghisolfi, Jakob Schubert, and Sean Bailey.

While we await Megos’ final say on the grade, see the cherub-cheeked boy from Frankenjura put his carrots to power on “King Capella” in this uncut send footage.
