These Boots Were Made for Folding: Get to Know the XTRATUF 15-Inch Duck Camo Legacy

Wear these multiuse workhorse boots rolled up high for protection in water and muck, or fold down to flash a little camo in drier conditions.

XTRATUF has waterproof protection close to the knee when you need it, and rolled down style and comfort when you don’t. The latest model from XTRATUF’s Legacy collection, the 15-inch Duck Camo Legacy provides slip-resistant traction on boat decks and wet terrain. And when you have calmer elements, the upper rolls down for more mobility and shows off the interior duck camo print.

The all-weather performance and slip-on fit help you prepare for 15 inches of whatever elements nature throws your way. Learn why XTRATUF is different than the rubber boots on the market, and see how it’s performed in the field.

XTRATUF Reputation

XTRATUF gets its reputation from its 100% waterproof triple-dipping technique to create a seamless barrier from water.

The brand’s materials resist “many organic and inorganic acids, chemicals, and contaminants” that can wear down rubber boots. Instead, XTRATUF uses latex neoprene in its boots because it is softer, lighter, and more flexible than rubber. Neoprene is also less prone to breaking down from exposure to ozone.

Traction in wet conditions is another hallmark of the brand. Its slip-resistant outsoles have chevron-shaped lugs for grip.

GearJunkie awarded the low-profile Legacy Lace Boot “Best Winter Rain Boot” in 2019, and named the 6″ XTRATUF Deck Boots the Best Budget pick for their easy slip-on use in everyday scenarios.

15” Duck Camo Legacy Boot

The 15″ Duck Camo Legacy Boot uses the traditional duck camo colors of olive drab and brown colors in solid blocks on the exterior, and then as a print with tan on the interior lining. At 15 inches tall, the boot’s neoprene uppers can roll down to allow for pants to be tucked inside, and show off the interior print.

The top of the boot measures 16.5 inches in circumference to allow room for pants to be tucked inside. They can be rolled down to increase airflow and for tasks that include more bending. A size 8 weighs 3 pounds, comparable to other waterproof winter boots.

Cushioned insoles provide arch support for comfort and to help fight fatigue. Beyond wet-surface traction, the grippy outsoles are also nonmarking.

More Legacy Versions & Beyond

XTRATUF makes other versions of the Legacy Boot, too. There’s a 12″ Legacy Boot, a steel toe version, and insulated versions at both heights. And then there’s a host of the ever-popular deck boots.

All of these models are built on the seamless waterproofing the Muck and XTRATUF brands are known for and are made with — materials that resist oxidizing or breaking down from exposure to organic elements like rubber boots.

Beyond the boat decks and tradition, these boots have fans for less specialized use around the home and during wet commutes. Depending on where you live, you may find yourself reaching for these to wear in fall rains, winter snows, and spring mud season.
