Rent Your Kit With GORE-TEX’s New ‘Outerwear on Demand’ Program

Having the option to rent rather than buy a ski jacket is a huge step for the industry. And it’s maybe the ultimate convenience for infrequent skiers, travelers, families, those with less room (in a suitcase or closet), and more.

Today, GORE-TEX is announcing its Outerwear on Demand rental program, which gives consumers across North America access to a variety of GORE-TEX snowsports apparel — without having to make a big purchase.

The rental program “was created to expand the opportunity for consumers to have unmatched GORE-TEX technology, when and where they need it most,” wrote GORE-TEX. “Each item in the collection is an exclusive GORE-TEX garment uniquely engineered  to stand up to the demands of the user and the stresses of a high-usage and cleaning frequency rental environment.”

Right now, men’s and women’s jacket and snow pants options are available in three color options each. The women’s jacket is insulated while the men’s is a shell. “We’ll also look at incorporating more options in the future based on feedback and demand from the consumer,” Chris Brennan at GORE added.

Consumers who rent can even mix and match tops and bottoms, and hopefully, with a variety of locations, will be able to rent locally, either near home or when traveling for a ski vacation.
