Red Bull ‘Formation’ Reloads With Expanded Field, More Female Firepower

Red Bull’s Formation event returns this year to Virgin, Utah. Watch the one-of-a-kind freeride mountain biking progression session and check out the list of riders, mentors, and more.

Freeride mountain biking is a daring and exploratory side of downhill riding where only the highly skilled and truly bold can go. Red Bull athletes conceptualized Formation to help more women gain confidence in their abilities — and show the world that women have the skillsets and motivation to ride this kind of terrain.

In the words of Beyonce: “OK, ladies, now let’s get in formation.”

Who to Watch in Red Bull’s 2022 Formation

The third iteration of the event returns May 8-15, 2022, with 12 riders, which is double the number of the original 2019 event. These riders are ready to push themselves — and their sport — to the next level. And we can’t wait to watch.

Virgin, Utah, one of the discipline’s top destinations, sets the stage for Formation, like previous years.

Top athletes like Vinny Armstrong, Hannah Bergemann, and Casey Brown will return. They and a host of other talented female mountain bikers (see the full list) will deliver a huge dose of female freeride firepower.
