Pathloom App Targets ‘One-Stop Shop’ for All Outdoor Adventure Trip Planning
This comprehensive, all-in-one app could be just what our rapidly growing community of outdoor recreators needs.
Pathloom is a Silicon Valley tech startup that is designing the industry’s first all-in-one app for outdoor trip planning. The company says it’s on a mission to help both first-timers and experienced adventurers more easily plan and carry out their favorite outdoor experiences.
“Pathloom is built on the belief that everyone should have access to nature, and that the currently stressful and disorganized trip planning process should not prevent anybody from doing so,” wrote the startup in a recent press release.
Pathloom’s software and interface provides info on hiking trails, backpacking routes, and campsites across many geographic areas (and hopes to expand to more outdoor activities as well in the future).
It currently has more than 60 unique data sets, with over 215,000 campsites and 45,000 hiking trails. Pathloom sources its info from National Park, National Forest, State Park, and Bureau of Land Management databases.
How it works: pick an outdoor area, find a campsite (search by tent, RV, or even yurt camping), then find trails nearby, and plan your trip! You can search campsites via filters like services, price, and ADA accessibility.
Same with trails: find trails for backpacking, biking, thru-hiking, and more. Then, put it all together with Pathloom — you can even book a campsite through the app.
