Owen Leeper Navigates Steep and Narrow Couloirs in ‘3 Ways to Die’

Scary to do, but fun to watch. What more could you ask for in a short and sweet Jackson Hole backcountry ski vid?

This video series is not for the anxious. In the first vid (above), professional big-mountain skier Owen Leeper calls the triad of Jackson Hole couloirs he’s about to run “three ways to die.” And after watching the footage, I will not argue with the man.

Leeper spends a few seconds describing the runs, then drops into the first one, where two tight turns and lighting-fast reflexes manage to keep his body from smearing against the stony sides of the couloir.

Blink, and you’ll miss it.
