Motorola’s New ANC Earbuds Challenge AirPods With Insane Battery Life
It looks like everyone’s taking aim at Apple AirPods. Motorola levels the crosshairs with the new Moto Buds-S ANC earbuds.
Announced this week at CES, the buds boast active noise cancellation up to 25 dB and a whopping 18-plus hours of battery life. By comparison, the battery life roughly doubles what you’d get from the AirPods Pro.
The buds bump with 10mm drivers and operate together or independently — toggle a switch to enable the mono capability.
They’re also IPX5 water-resistant, which improves on AirPods’ IPX4 rating slightly. At IPX5, a device resists pressurized water ingress at all angles.
The Motorola Moto Buds-S ANC are both touch- and voice-controllable and come with a wireless charging case. Without the case, the buds have a 6-hour runtime.
Carry the roughly 2.25-inch case along to give yourself an extra 12 hours of battery life. And a dual mic on each earbud helps voice call clarity.
The ANC earbuds operate via Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. If you’re at CES this weekend, check out the Moto Buds-S ANC at the Motorola booth. Otherwise, click here to learn more.
As of now, Motorola offers considerably less information about the buds than Apple does about AirPods. The brand does, however, make one critical fact known. While you’ll pay $250 for AirPods, MSRP for Moto Buds-S ANC is a trim $150.
