Millions in Funding, Dozens of Job Openings at Camping App
In a recent funding round, The Dyrt secured $11 million in venture capital. What does that mean for users? For one thing, a lot more job opportunities.
Today, The Dyrt announced the results of a recent funding campaign that will help nearly double its team. Netting $11 million in capital, The Dyrt plans to add 30 new remote workers to its existing 40 employees.
The 19 job openings at the time of writing include roles across experience levels and skillsets. And the company is accepting applications now.

Since its beginnings in 2013, The Dyrt has focused on building a “camping-for-all” crowd-sourced platform for camping information.
It includes location, facility, and availability information for tent campers, dispersed campers, RVers, and glampers alike. Currently, it consolidates 4 million photos, reviews, and tips covering 44,000 campgrounds across the U.S.
“Our mission has always been to make it easier for anyone anywhere in the U.S. to go camping,” said Sarah Smith, co-founder of The Dyrt. “Our new open job postings across technology, marketing, and support allow us to really scale up toward the realization of our vision.”
Realization Capital Partners leveraged the capital for the funding round. Smith indicated that the $11 million amount surpassed the company’s financial target. Of course, the new hires alone won’t eat up the entire $11 million. The remainder will go toward supporting the company’s vision.
Smith told GearJunkie that users will enjoy utility upgrades to the subscription-based PRO version of the app. It provides perks like offline access, fee discounts, road-trip planning tools, and public land map layers, which show features like dispersed camping.
Smith specified that expanding the suite of map layers will be among the upgrades the new capital will fund.
Ostensibly, the new jobs will help support function for The Dyrt’s ever-growing user base — currently, the company claims a new camper visits The Dyrt every second.
And if you want to join The Dyrt team, act fast; according to Smith, some roles are already filled. You can apply to any of the new openings through The Dyrt’s website.
