Limited Edition Knives: Coast Unveils ‘1919 Reserve’

Coast builds on its heritage with the new 1919 Reserve — modern designs made with long-lasting steel and unique safety locks.

The Coast 1919 Reserve knives harken back to the year its founder, Henry W. Brands, created a strong fillet knife with a cleaning scoop on the end of the handle. It was a hot commodity and laid the foundation for the brand.

From there, Coast grew its offering to include other workplace needs, from cutting tools to lighting. The 1919 Reserve collection targets a variety of uses and needs, while maintaining its use of stainless steel blades, patented locking mechanisms, and modern practical features.

Coast says it prides itself on its locking systems, and claims it puts extra focus on this in the design and manufacturing process. The brand’s patented Double Lock and Max Lock systems are designed for added protection beyond the traditional use of a liner lock.

The Max Lock prevents assisted-opening mechanisms from triggering while in your pocket, and both locks hold the blade open to prevent an accidental closure from cutting into your knuckles.
