Kids and Newbies Can Sled on the New Ski-Doo Neo Snowmobiles

Ski-Doo just announced its winter 2023 snowmobile lineup, which includes updates to its Rev line and introduces a new segment altogether: the tween-sized Neo series.

With the addition of an intermediate size group, Ski-Doo targets two types of riders: snowmobile newcomers and those caught between youth sizes and full sizes.

“We have been seeing record-high numbers of new entrants coming into the world of snowmobiling recently and looking for an accessible way to try out the sport for themselves,” said Annick Lauzon, Ski-Doo’s global marketing director.

“Doing that on a sled that is designed to match their skills and confidence level, while still delivering every ounce of That Ski-Doo Feeling they’re looking for, is why we’re proud to introduce the Neo.”

According to the press release, the Neo models rely on easy-to-use features, like electric start, electric fuel injection, and reverse. Providing two often ignored types of riders with snow sledding options that are fun and functional in a more compact, less intimidating form factor is the goal, the brand said.

Ski-Doo Neo and Neo+ Sleds

Two Ski-Doo models comprise the Neo series: the MXZ for trail riding and the Summit for deep-snow excursions.

Regarding power, a 40-horsepower engine comes standard in the base Neo models. But, for an $800 premium, buyers can get the upgraded Neo+ package, which swaps out the 40-horsepower engine for a 55 and adds HPG shocks, a wider and more aggressive track, and a mountain strap.

MXZ Models

The MXZ Neo snowmobile ($6,399 MSRP) is Ski-Doo’s low-angle trail runner. It sits atop Ski-Doo’s REV Gen4 platform, which should centralize mass and distribute balance across the vehicle.

RAS X advanced suspension handles the front end, and a single shock takes up the rear, as found in full-size MXZ sleds.

Summit Models

The Summit Neo snowmobile ($6,999 MSRP) specializes in steep climbs and deep snow, explaining the slightly higher base price.

Like the MXZ Neo, it uses a REV Gen4 platform for balance and safety. As for suspension, the RAS 3 system takes up the front end with a single-shock setup in the back.
