‘Grit & Grace’: The First Women’s Paris-Roubaix With Marianne Martin and More

2021 was a big year for female riders, and this close look tells the story of one cycling team’s journey — through training and up to race day.

April 16, 2022, marks the second annual Paris-Roubaix Femmes, one of the world’s most challenging and revered single-day road races. In 2021, women’s team SD Worx was one of just a few that would travel down a path that, for more than a century, only men had been granted access to.

“Grit & Grace” features cycling legends like America’s first female Tour de France winner, Marianne Martin, Olympic gold medalists Anna van der Breggen and Connie Carpenter-Phinney, and road race champ Chantal van den Broek-Blaak.

Each woman — a cycling phenom in her own right — discusses what it means that women can now prove themselves on the legendary course. If you love cycling, this film is a must-watch.
