Functional Fashion: Rumpl Releases Packable Puffy Outdoor Outfit
Puffy pants? Puffy vest? We give this Rumpl outfit a resounding ‘yes.’
Nicole McLaughlin is an upcycle fashion designer, artist, and Arc’teryx design ambassador who partners with brands — both in the fashion and outdoor industries — to create upcycled apparel. This week, outdoor brand Rumpl enlisted McLaughlin’s design powers to create maybe the coolest take on puffy pants we’ve seen.
Rumpl and McLaughlin’s collection includes an upcycled Rumpl vest and shorts. Love Rumpl blankets? Well, now you can get the apparel to match.
The partnership brings attention to McLaughlin’s upcycling style and Rumpl’s zero-waste philosophies. It also brings the goal of “inspiring more brands to rethink how we use excess products,” Rumpl shared.
In her apparel, McLaughlin reuses not only excess fabrics but also damaged or unsellable products — really anything that might be tossed.
“I wanted to highlight the iconic Rumpl stuff sacks and create something visually as far away from a blanket as possible,” said McLaughlin. And frankly, she (and Rumpl) nailed it.
You can enter to win the vest and shorts from August 3 until August 6. Along with the contest, Rumpl will also be donating $10,000 to the WeGotNext advocacy organization.
