Fastest Known Time: Hannah Otto Slays Moab’s The Whole Enchilada Trail

Completing 55.27 miles with over 8,000 feet of elevation gain in 5 hours and 50 minutes, pro mountain biker Hannah Otto has set a significant new FKT.

Not only did Hannah Otto crush it on a demanding trail in Moab, but she also made history by setting the fastest known time for both men and women. The previous record on her route, which includes the infamous The Whole Enchilada trail, clocked in at 6 hours and 47 minutes.

Otto is a two-time winner of the XTERRA Amateur World Championship. She has shifted her focus from triathlons to mountain biking, which led to her becoming a five-time U.S. Collegiate National Champion and accumulating multiple Pro-XCT wins, along with other impressive accolades.

The Whole Enchilada Trail Details

The Whole Enchilada is a 34-mile, expert-level, point-to-point singletrack mountain bike trail that starts in the La Sal Mountains and ends near the Colorado River. Otto integrated The Whole Enchilada into a larger 55.27-mile loop that began in Moab and ascended the paved roads and forest roads to the top of the trailhead before descending 7,000 feet of the famous, destination-worthy line.

Its lowest elevation point is at 4,004 feet, with its highest point at 11,146 feet. And according to Otto’s Strava, she conquered a whopping 8,011 feet of elevation gain on her chosen route.
