Colorado Speed Skier Who Topped 130 MPH Makes Hall of Fame

In 1987, C.J. Mueller became the first person to go over 130 miles per hour on a pair of sticks. This spring, it’s Hall of Fame time.

C.J. Mueller is a boss. Why? Because in 1987, he was the fastest human on the hill. Any hill, anywhere. The three-time world record holder and 1992 Olympian was the first person to exceed 130 mph on skis. We’ll give you a second to read that again, because — wow.

The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame plans to induct Mueller into its ranks in the spring of 2023. In the meantime, the man still hits Breckenridge every day that it’s open.

He even has a run named after him. Now, that‘s local legend status.
