Color-Enhancing Sunglasses: Bollé Volt+ Targets Sharper Contrast, Hues for Athletes

Bollé introduces sunglass tech to see the world in greater contrast without damping any colors. These new Volt+ lenses are available in several styles with lightweight, sport-specific frames.

Want to see all of summer’s colors in greater depth and less glare? Bollé says it has a new line of sunglasses that does just that. The new Volt+ tech is available in a collection of different frames made with an eye on runners, cyclists, and anglers.

To create the Volt+ innovation, Bollé sifted through millions of color combos to enhance colors without damping some. Bollé reports these lenses create a 30% color enhancement, doubling its nearest competitor.

What Is Bollé Volt+?

Typically, sunglass lenses achieve greater contrast by enhancing one color spectrum at the cost of all others. Bollé’s new Volt+ reportedly enhances every color.

To achieve this, Bollé used artificial intelligence to crank out 20 million combinations and find a winning formula. Additionally, the brand reports the lens provides greater depth perception and polarization.

Bollé even has an Instagram filter, an augmented reality experience (scan the QR code below) for you to try on the Volt+ collection and see how your surroundings might look through the new lens tech.

Sunglasses With Volt+

The Volt+ lens tech is featured throughout Bollé’s Performance and Sport Lifestyle collections. The Shifter and Lightshifter XL are pure cycling frames, while the Slim Collection combines lifestyle shapes and sport features in six models.

These frames use lightweight, flexible TR90 nylon frames with Thermogrip rubber, designed to keep them in place while on the move.

Shifter

Taking design cues from the brand’s Chronoshield frames, the Shifter has curved temples and a vented lens for cyclists.

Similar in appearance, the semi-rimless Lightshifter frames and Lightshifter XL frames have larger dimensions for larger faces. These come with treatments to fight fog, scratches, and buildups of oil or water.
