Canyon Unveils Grizl ‘Do-Anything’ Gravel Bike
Like to ride gravel? Like to ride more than gravel? There’s a new steed in town you should see.
Canyon’s 2018 Grail model gravel bike has been a staple for the brand for a while. But there’s a whole lotta riders out there, and the Grail might not fit them all. Today, the German bike manufacturer offers a new model and build options for any gravel the Grail won’t tackle.
Meet the Grizl.
Canyon’s Grizl features bigger tires, a new drop bar design, more mounting options for bags, and a few new spiffy gravel-specific components. Canyon calls it the “ultimate do-anything, go-anywhere, all-you-might-ever-need gravel bike.”
Basically, the rougher the gravel, the better.
Canyon Grizl Features
- Canyon Gravel Pro geometry
- Suspension fork compatible
- Dropper post compatible
- Tubeless ready w/45mm rubber tires standard / clearance for 50 mm
- Two fork mounts, a top tube mount, and a third bottle cage mount beneath the down tube
- Shimano GRX groupset (1x and 2x options)
- Bigger variety of build options than Grail
“In the name of maximum versatility and all-round capability,” says Canyon, the Grizl is also packed with a range of progressive components and features unprecedented on a Canyon gravel bike. There’s internal routing for full dropper post compatibility, and the Grizl is also both 1x and 2x compatible.
Lastly, another customization tailored to harder-core gravel riders is Canyon’s new bike packs, tailored to the Grizl. The Apidura x Canyon Packs are lightweight, waterproof, tailored for gravel, and available now.
The Grizl frame comes in six models — 5 SL models and 1 ultralight SLX model (950g frame). Grizl frames range from 2XS to 2XL, starting at $2,199 up to $4,899 for the race-designed SLX. Learn more here.
