‘BOURN’ Is a Love Letter to Freesking, Face Planting, and Family
Freeskier Micah Evangelista delivers captivating tricks, exceptional mountain settings, and a soulful homage to home in his autobiographical project ‘BOURN.’
Born and raised at the base of Mt. Baker, Evangelista learned to ski before he could talk. He often spent his days building snow ramps, thinking up wild tricks, and then stubbornly trying to stick the landings.
“You’ll fall a lot, but you just get back up and try it again,” remarks his mom, Julianne, a touch of awe in her voice. “You’ve just never given up, and that’s something I’ve been [so] impressed by.”
This 2-year-long project weaves shots of the Faction freeskier‘s otherworldly style with old home videos and a wealth of faceplant footage. The result is a film that feels handmade, intentional, and subtly profound.
Runtime: 14.5 minutes
