Alps-Based Freeskier Rips Familiar Pow in ‘HOME’

French freeskier Oscar Mandin celebrates the stoke, peace, and mega terrain found right outside his door in ‘HOME.’

Mandin grew up shredding the sugar-coated slopes of Portes du Soleil, a French ski village that shares its border with Switzerland. As a Freeride World Tour athlete, Mandin has carved lines across the most exquisite backcountry in the world.

And yet he keeps returning to the ranges that raised him and the friends who reside there.

“HOME” follows the 24-year-old freeskier as he rips through the pillowy Franco-Swiss backcountry, joined by mentors, old freeriding friends, and local legends along the way.

The result is a compendium of epic drops, acrobatic jumps, and dreamy Alps terrain. It is, as Mandin puts it, “the pleasure of sharing in liberty.”
