A Longtime Mountain Athlete Reflects on Skiing, Fatherhood in ‘Alpine Souls’
Didi Haase loved skiing big, stupid, 50-degree faces. But when he became a parent, his whole outlook changed.
Listen, I love a shreddy, gnar-centered ski film as much as the person. But sometimes, it’s nice to let cinematography, sound design, and a good dang story take center stage. Such is the case in “Alpine Souls,” episode 1: Didi Haase, a new short from Rossignol.
The film centers around Haase — a high-performance athlete turned textile engineer turned ski-shop owner, and somewhere in all that mix, a devoted father.
The film is the first in a three-part series of video portraits exploring what it means to love the mountains.
We’re hooked already.
Runtime: 4 minutes
